Family Life Center Usage Policy
 
In the interest of informing members of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and other interested parties, concerning the use of our Family Life Center, Hickory Grove Baptist Church has adopted the following guidelines:
 
1.     The Family Life Center, its facilities and paraphernalia are owned by each of us. In this regard, we should each be aware of and considerate of the right and privileges others. We should always be careful not to abuse what is ours. We should each assume the responsibility of keeping the building and grounds clean, turning the lights off, turning the heat and air conditioning off when they are not needed, and of seeing that the building and equipment are treated with proper respect.
2.     The Family Life Center will be locked when not in use. This policy has been adopted to protect our property from possible vandalism, as well as to help us conserve, as best we can, energy consumed by heat and air conditioning.
3.     A member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church may use the facility based on the guidelines set forth, if an adult supervisor 25 years or older is present for the duration of the event. The adult supervision must be present at all times during the event and will be held responsible for the facility as well as for enforcing the policy requirements set for the use of the Family Life Center.
4.     Church members who wish to use the facility for non-church related events must have prior approval from the Family Life Center operations committee. A $50.00 refundable deposit will be required as detailed below.
5.     The table, chairs and other equipment shall not leave the Family Life Center for any reason unless it is a Hickory Grove Baptist Church related function. If it is necessary that they are moved for church related functions, the move must be approved by the Family Life Center operations committee.
6.     Person responsible for events held either during daytime and nighttime hours should make sure that following their events the lights, heat and air conditioner are turned off and all equipment has been returned to its proper place. All food used is to be removed from the premise and the area used to be cleaned thoroughly. All trash should be removed or placed in the outside trash canisters. Upon departure the building should be locked. Please pay close attention to these guidelines and do not assume that somebody else will turn the lights, heat and air conditioning off. A Family Life Center Usage Checklist should be completed upon event completion and turned back in with the key.
7.     There should be no non church related activities in the Family Life Center during any church service.
8.     The Family Life Center shall be used in the highest standards of Christian Faith and notfor profit or political purposes. Any member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church sponsoring
any non-church related event is asked to pay a $50.00 deposit for its use. Upon inspection by the Family Life Center Committee Representative, the deposit or part of the deposit could be refunded. The facility must be left clean, lights, heat and air conditioning turned off, trash placed in the outside containers and the building locked.
9.     All usage of the Family Life Center must be appropriate to the ministry of the church. All participants of scheduled events are asked to conduct themselves in accordance with the highest Christian standards.
     ·       Profanity will not be tolerated.
     ·       Smoking is not permitted in the building. Alcohol and unauthorized controlled substances are not permitted on church property.
     ·       Unauthorized weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden on the property.
     ·       Any and all conduct deemed inappropriate is not permitted.
10.      Any member, entity or individual using the Family Life Center shall hold harmless and indemnity the church for injuries and damages to third persons as a result of their use of the Family Life Center. If any suit is filed, the third party shall pay any attorney’s fee and costs the church might expend in defending the said claim.
